Apropos to a news report by a news agency “Doctors or Extortionist” ? SKIMS patients pay the price for Doctor Lab. Nexus.
SKIMS  vehemently denies the report as it is not factually correct.
SKIMS has a well established Laboratory Block under various departments which are equipped with state of art equipments to carry out various investigations per day. The reports are available within the shortest possible time. During the past month alone  following investigations were performed:-

For the benefit of the general public, SKIMS is making concerted efforts to ensure availability all investigations within the campus  in order to improve patient satisfaction.

We strongly refute any alleged “Doctor Lab. Nexus”. The number of investigations conducted and revenue generated of Rs. 140,23,720 indicates both the quality and quantity of  work done. The number of investigations clearly indicates the performance of SKIMS Labs which remain operational 24x7.

SKIMS has made it very clear through a circular instructions,  regarding entry to SKIMS premises of lab staff from outside the hospital. The security of the hospital is under instructions to ensure compliance in letter and spirit.  

Furthermore, there are clear instructions to all the concerned that no test/investigations should be referred to outside SKIMS without confirming its non availability from the concerned laboratory of SKIMS.  

It appears that the news report has attempted to malign the image of a reputed institution by casting aspersions and insinuations, with malafide intent, upon doctors as a community.
The health care professionals associated with SKIMS have over the years served the people of J&K with the utmost degree of professionalism and dedication. Such malafide and malicious unprofessional conduct by certain media portals conforms to unprofessional conduct. The report is not based on facts aimed to create unnecessary confusion in the minds of general public. It is expected that the portal in question will engage in responsible reporting in the future. We humbly solicit cooperation of all including media houses to help the institution to serve the people of J&K in a better way and render all possible assistance to the patients, who are the most important stakeholder for us.
