Director SKIMS Inaugurates Emergency Lab At SKIMS:

Srinagar 12th September, 2024: In its continuous efforts to streamline the Emergency Services, Director SKIMS & EOSG Prof. M.  Ashraf Ganie today inaugurated a "Point of care Emergency Lab" which has been set up to cater to the emergency patients to expedite essential tests , thereby reducing dependency on external facilities and enhancing diagnostic efficiency.
The lab has state of the art equipment and will provide various facilities including hematological, biochemical investigations besides blood gases and body fluid estimations. The lab will function round the clock.
The emergency revamping prioritised by the administration to ensure efficiency and patient centered care has seen a major upgradation in the first phase which includes separation of Pediatric Emergency which has been shifted to the IDB block, besides the dedicated point of care Emergency Lab inaugurated today by Director SKIMS & EOSG and dedicated it to public.
Director SKIMS was accompanied by Additional Director SKIMS Dr. Firdous A  Giri, Prof Afzal Wani Renowned Neurosurgeon & former Dean SKIMS, Medical Superintendent SKIMS Prof. Farooq A. Jan, Dr. Muhibul Haq HOD Bioengineering, Prof Bashir Ahmad Fomda HOD Microbiology & Convenor to facilitate shifting of Emergency Lab, Prof Abrar Ahmad  Wani Incharge HOD Emergency, Dr Akbar Shah ,HOD Critical Care,Dr Umar Hafiz Additional Prof Geriatrics Dr. Shahnawaz Hamid Assistant Prof. HA and Admn Incharge Emergency ,Dr Fayaz A Bhat Assistant Prof. General Medicine, r Bilal A Wagay Assistant Professor General Surgery.
Prof. M. Ashraf Ganie reiterated the institute's commitment to enhance emergency services as a top priority. He commended the Department of Hospital Administration for their efforts to facilitate better patient care services and appreciated the concerted efforts of all the faculty members for their contribution and support.
Later, Director SKIMS conducted round of Emergency area including Medical Observation, Pediatric Triage Centre and other patient care facilities. He also interacted with the patients who expressed their satisfaction about the facilities and appreciated the staff on duty for their dedicated services.
