DEPARTMENT OF CARDIO VASCULAR THORASIC SURGERY [CVTS]

The Department of CVTS is performing both open heart and other thoracic surgical procedures. Open heart surgical procedures include most of the congenital cardiac anomalies like repair of atrial septal defects, ASD with PAPVC, endocardial cushion defects, associated valvular anomalies, ventricular septal defects. Other surgeries include those for pulmonic stenosis, tetrology of fallot, aortopulmonary window, single ventricle, sub-aortic LVOTO excision, Ebstein anomaly correction, repair and or replacement of valves like mitral valve, tricuspid valve repair, pulmonary valve repair, mitral valve replacement, aortic valve replacement, double valve replacements with or without tricuspid valve repair at the same time, cardiac tumours like artrial myxomas etc. Closed heart surgical & thoracic surgical procedures are also being conducted. Post-doctoral, postgraduate and under-graduate teaching & training constitute important academic activity in the department.
