The Department of Ophthalmology, SKIMS Medical College & Hospital, Bemina has become the first centre in Jammu and Kashmir to start the much needed Corneal Transplantation Surgery. This facility was started on 28th September, 2014 and after that two more blind patients were successfully operated for corneal transplantation on 2nd October, 2014 by Surgeons Dr. Shiekh Sajad Ahmad and Dr. Imtiyaz Ahmad from the Department of Ophthalmology.The Director SKIMS/Principal SKIMS Medical College & Hospital, Bemina Prof. Showkat Ali Zargar has congratulated the department for achieving the greatest milestone which will help the poor and needy blind patients in restoration of vision. Dr. Showkat Ali Zargar said such surgeries will now be done on regular basis in the Department of Ophthalmology, SKIMS Medical College & Hospital, Bemina. |
