May 18th, Srinagar: The Sajid Iqbal Foundation organized its eighth biannual blood donation drive at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura today to commemorate the life and work of noted human rights lawyer Sajid Iqbal.The drive saw people from all walks of life including lawyers, teachers, bureaucrats, doctors and students donating blood in large numbers, Female donors also donated blood for this noble cause taking the number to 100 points.A substantial number of volunteers from SKIMS and JK Police also participated.Speaking on this occasion Ms Sehar Iqbal, Executive Director of the Foundation said that blood donation is the most effective way of saving lives and contributing to the society.Dr. Shaukat Zargar, Director SKIMS appreciated the organisers for their continued support. |
