Srinagar 30/6/2015:  Munira Kachroo , faculty member from Madr-e-Meharban Institute of Nursing Sciences & Research SKIMS  has been awarded PhD in nursing sciences . She is the first person to complete her Ph.D. in Nursing Sciences in J&K from Indira Gandhi National Open University New Delhi under the supervision of Prof. Pity Koul, director School of Health Sciences IGNOU. Her thesis focused on effectiveness of low birth weight prevention program on maternal and neonatal outcome of high risk pregnant woman”

Director SKIMS Dr. Showkat Zargar congratulated Ms Munira Kachroo and said SKIMS always encourage research which is key in medical sciences. SKIMS is proud of her as she is the first one from J&K  to complete her doctorate in nursing sciences and hoped her research will contribute to understand larger perspectives  in her field of study.
