At Department of Nuclear Medicine SKIMS , we wish to inform that low dose Iodine 131 will resume next week and high dose will take two more weeks. This is as per today's email communication BRIT Mumbai, the primary source of supply of iodine I131. During the past few weeks the supply of this  isotope has been erratic because of some problem with generator plants at BRIT. SKIMS is dependent on BRIT for availability of  isotope as these are not available in open market.
While expressing extreme regret all the thyroid malignancy patients who are waiting for the therapy are requested to contact mobile number +91 97971 51567 before visiting the department to confirm their slot.
We greatly appreciate your patience and seek your kind cooperation in this. Please note that thyroid malignancy  is not as serious as other cancers and delay of few weeks is unlikely to change course of the disease significantly.
