DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL MEDICINE

The Department of Internal Medicine plays the pivotal role in rendering medical services, both on outpatient and indoor basis. Department runs OPD on all week days and emergency services round the clock. The department runs pulmonary medicine, rheumatology, infectious diseases and sleep medicine services in particular, besides, being the initial contact point for all the patients for the specialties. The Department runs pulmonary medicine services including bronchoscopy services (diagnostic & therapeutic) for all sister institutions of the state, LASER treatment of tumour is performed routinely.. 25 postgraduates are inducted yearly for MD programme.

The Department also runs teaching at SKIMS Medical College for MBBS students and also runs post graduate and ancillary courses like Medical Lab. Technology. The Department also runs 24 x 7 services for Accident & Emergency & a special pulmonary clinic.
